Grandma's Marshmallow Frosting

2 egg whites
1 1/4 C granulated sugar
4 T cold water
9 large marshmallows cut small
1/2 t vanilla
1/4 t baking powder

Place 1st 3 ingredients in top of double boiler.
Place over boiling water and beat with beater until thick,
adding marshmallows as mixture begins to thicken.
Beat until smooth.

Remove from heat. Add vanilla.
Beat until thick and nearly cold, add baking powder.

Frosts a 3 layer cake.

Grandma's Rubarb Cake

Rubarb Cake

1 1/2 C Sugar
1/2 C shortening
1 egg
1 C sour cream
2 C flour
1/2 t salt
1 t baking soda
1 t vanilla
2 C finely cut rubarb
walnuts (optional)

Cream sugar & shortening, add remaining ingredients.
Sprinkle top with 1/4 C sugar mixed with cinamon.
Bake in 9 x 13" pan for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

Caramel Brownies

Caramel Brownies

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 24 minutes
Recipe Yield: 15-20

A brownie with a rich caramel filling

Ingredients:
• 1 package Duncan Hines Devils Food cake mix
• 1 large bag caramels
• 3/4 cup margarine
• 1/2 cup evaporated milk
• 1/3 cup evaporated milk
• 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
1: Mix the cake mix, margarine, and evaporated milk together.
2: Pat half the mixture into a 9x13-inch pan.
3: Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees.
4: Melt 50 caramels in the 1/3 cup of evaporated milk.
5: Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips over baked mixture.
6: Pour melted caramels over chocolate chips.
7: Sprinkle last half of cake mixture over caramels.
8: Bake at 350 for 18 minutes.

Additional Tips:
Vanilla ice cream goes well with this!
