CRESCENT CHEESE DANISHES

CRESCENT CHEESE DANISHES

INGREDIENTS:

1 Medium PKG softened Philly cream-cheese.

Two crescent roll tubes.

1/2 C white sugar.

1/4 C  light brown sugar.

2 TBSP melted butter.

1 TSP lemon juice.

1 TSP pure vanilla extract.

FOR THE GLAZE, I USED:

2/3 C powdered sugar.

4 TSP milk.

1 TSP pure vanilla extract.

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Set the temperature of oven to 350℉.

Step 2: Use a blender to mix the cream cheese, lemon juice, pure vanilla extract, and the white sugar in a medium bowl until well mixed.

Step 3: Open the tubes of the crescent rolls. To slice through them, using a sharp knife and slice them thick.

Step 4: On a parchment-lined baking sheet, layer each slice.

To make a little wall around the outside, use fingers or a little measuring cup.

Step 5:

Take the melted butter and add 1/4 cup of light brown sugar to the mixture with a whisk.

Brush the blend over each Danish mixture.

Even percentages of the filling in each of the Danish dollops.

Step 6: Cook for 15 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, when the color is changed to a golden brown,  remove it from the oven.

Step 7: Let it cool, then add a drizzle of glaze.

Step 8: To make the glaze:

Combine all three ingredients in a small bowl until soft, then drizzle over every warm Danish.

Note: For the topping, you can use what you want and what you have. Personally, I like to top with some cherries or pie filling.

Enjoy.

Amish Apple Fritter Bread

 Amish Apple Fritter Bread

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

2/3 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp. Vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 cups diced apples (about 4 med apples) mixed with a little cinnamon and sugar to coat.

Powdered Sugar Glaze

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 Tablespoon butter, softened

2 tablespoons milk

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray so it slides out easily. Mix the first two ingredients, the brown sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar and butter until smooth. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until blended. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Add this mixture to the other and stir until well blended. Pour the milk into the batter and blend until smooth. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Then add half of your chopped apple mixture. Pour the rest of the batter on top of the apples. Top with remaining apples and pat them slightly into the batter. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture you had set aside. Bake in a preheated oven until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, approximately 60 to 70 minutes. To make the powdered sugar glaze, blend the powdered sugar and butter together until smooth, mix in the milk and vanilla until a nice, smooth glaze consistency. Let the Apple fritter love cool about 30 minutes before pouring the glaze on top. Wrap up to give as gifts or slice into desired slices.

Middle apple layer with the apples mixed with Cinnamon & Sugar.

More apples patted into batter on top and then topped with the brown sugar mix.

Baking up golden brown like a giant apple fritter.

Just look at those chunky moist apples in the middle.

FRIED CINNAMON APPLE RINGS

FRIED CINNAMON APPLE RINGS
Serves 6
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 to 20 minutes

 You’ll Need
– 3 to 4 large Gala apples
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– ¼ teaspoon baking powder
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– ¼ teaspoon salt
– ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 large egg, beaten
– 1 cup buttermilk
– Vegetable oil, for frying

Cinnamon Sugar Topping
– ⅓ cup sugar
– 2 teaspoons cinnamon

 How To
In a medium-sized bowl, add the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside.
In a small bowl, combine the egg and buttermilk and mix well.
In a third dish, mix the remaining ⅓ cup sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and reserve for topping. Slice apples into ¼-inch slices.
Using a biscuit cutter, remove the cores along with the seeds, leaving ¼-inch-wide rings.
Pat the apple rings dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
As the oil heats, combine the flour mixture and the buttermilk mixture together into the batter, mixing well to remove any lumps.
Dip the apple rings, one at a time, into the batter.
Tap apple rings against the side of the bowl to remove any excess batter.
Gently place the rings in the hot oil and fry in small batches, turning so that they brown on both sides. Once the apple rings are golden and crispy, transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil. Dip each apple ring into the cinnamon sugar and coat evenly.
Place on a wire cooling rack – setting the fried-and-coated rings on a plate will result in soggy apple rings! – and serve warm.

Rustic Apple Cider Cake

Rustic Apple Cider Cake
Found https://munchies.vice.com/en_us/article/xym8za/rustic-apple-cider-cake
Three layers of apple cider buttercream sandwiched between three layers of apple cider cake.

Sydney Kramer

Use that leftover holiday cider to make an easy three-layer cake that will please any apple lover.

Servings: 8
Total: 2 hours 30 minutes

Ingredients

for the apple cider cake:
½ cup unsalted butter, cubed
¾ cup granulated sugar
⅓ cup packed brown sugar
3 eggs
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 cup apple cider
½ cup buttermilk
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

apple cider buttercream:
2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
5 to 5 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons apple cider
dash of ground cinnamon
sprinkles, for decoration (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350° degrees F and line 3 8-inch cake pans with parchment, then grease with butter or non-stick spray. Set aside. In the bowl of your mixer, beat together your butter and sugars until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add in your eggs, one at a time, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. Add in your vegetable oil and beat to combine.

2. Place your apple cider and buttermilk in a medium-sized bowl. In another bowl, whisk together your flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add your dry and wet mixtures to your batter in alternating batches, that is to say, add in ⅓ of your flour, mix to combine, add in ½ of your cider and milk mixture, mix to combine, add in another ⅓ of flour, then the rest of your milk and cider, then the rest of your flour. This gradual adding will ensure that you don't overmix your batter. Scrape down the bowl as needed, and divide your batter among your three prepared pans. Bake for 30 minutes or so, until set. Allow to cool completely before frosting.

3. When you're ready to make your frosting, beat together your butter, powdered sugar, cider, and cinnamon until smooth. When you're ready, place a small dollop of frosting on a cake board or whatever surface you'll be frosting your cake on, then place your first layer on top of that dollop (this secures your cake in place). Because this cake is rustic, you don't have to worry about leveling it off, so add your first layer, spread ⅓ of your frosting over it, add your second layer, spread another ⅓ of frosting over that layer, and finally top with the last year and spread the rest of your frosting over the top. Sprinkle with any extra sprinkles and enjoy. This cake will keep well, covered and refrigerated, for up to 3 days.

Cinnamon oat stuffed apples in a slow cooker

Cooktop Cove: How to make cinnamon oat stuffed apples in a slow cooker
By Tracy Teel
When you want a warm apple dessert but don't have the time (or energy) to make a whole pie, these stuffed baked apples will do the trick. They become soft and tender while "baking" in your slow cooker, and the end result is a sweet apple treat with a core of caramel oat goodness.

You can choose any variety of apple that you like, but Gala, Jonagold, and Honeycrisp apples are good choices because they won't get mushy while cooking. Feel free to experiment with the filling as well. A little lemon zest and grated ginger make a nice addition. So ... let's get cooking!

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 4 hours, 10 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients
1/2 cup (113 g) Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup (113 g) light brown sugar
1 teaspoon allspice
4 Honeycrisp apples, washed
4 tablespoons butter, unsalted
1/4 cup (2 ml) water

Optional: Vanilla or cinnamon ice cream or frozen yogurt

Instructions
1. In a small bowl, stir together the oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, and allspice. Set aside. Tip: If you like, you can also add chopped pecans and raisins as well.
2. Wash the apples then slice off the tops. Next, carefully remove the core and all the seeds. Tip: You can use a paring knife and a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the remaining seeds.

3. Stuff the apples with the oat mixture then place them in your slow cooker, cut side up.
4. Place 1 tablespoon of butter on top of each apple and our the water into the slow cooker. Tip: Be careful not to spill the water onto the apples. The water will help create steam to cook them gently.

5. Cover and cook for 3-4 hours on high. When the apples are tender, serve them with ice cream or frozen yogurt.

Food blog Iamahoneybee recommends cooking the apples in apple juice, the liquid will help cook through the apples and make them more savory. If you're looking for a softer dessert, give this a try.
Enjoy!
